Pillow Talk

Pillow Talk is a project aiming to connect long distance lovers. Each person has a ring sensor they wear to bed at night, and a flat fabric panel which slots inside their pillowcase. The ring wirelessly communicates with the other person’s pillow; when one person goes to bed, their lover’s pillow begins to glow softly to indicate their presence. Placing your head on the pillow allows you to hear the real-time heartbeat of your loved one. The result is an intimate interaction between two lovers, regardless of the distance between them.

  2. What an interesting concept. I still think nothing beats the romance factor, though, of a handwritten letter. When my boyfriend was overseas serving in the army, we wrote letters to each other all the time, and waited the weeks it took for them to reach each other. Well, I wrote them, he typed his. Then, he had an even bigger surprise for me when he came home. He'd saved a copy and went and found someone who did perfect binding printing and gave it to me as a gift. To have all his letters nicely bound in a book like that - well, that's something I'll cherish forever.
